Enrollment Questions How do I apply for the insurance benefits? The application process varies depending on what type of policy you would like to enroll in. Please see the specific benefit you are interested in to obtain enrollment information. If you are enrolling in the Dental, Eye Care or the Transamerica Limited Medical Indemnity program(s) your policy should be effective the first of the month after we receive your enrollment forms and first month's premium. (If you are enrolling online it may be the first of the 2nd month depending on where GIS is in the billing cycles. If you are applying for the Sun Life Disability, Life, Hospital Indemnity or Accident policy(s) the effective date will be determined once underwriting is completed. Where do I send the applications? Billing Questions What are my payment options? Premiums can be deducted/charged on a monthly basis either through a Checking, Savings or Credit Card (MasterCard or VISA). When are the various forms of payment done each month? Checking and savings accounts will be deducted around the 15th of each month for the next month's premium. For example on September 15th premiums would be deducted for October's premium. Credit cards are charged around the 20th of each month for the next month's premium. For example on September 20th premiums would be charged for October's premium. This is when we put the charge through when it shows up on your credit card statement may vary depending on your company.
Cancellation Questions What do I need to do if I need to cancel my policy? All cancellation requests must be submitted to Greater Insurance Service either by fax, email or mail. The earliest possible cancellation date would be the first of the month after Greater Insurance Service receives your written request. All cancellations will be the first of a month.
